Summary of Activities

We will take a canoe trip on the Napo River. We will visit the caiman lagoon. We will learn about the elaboration of handmade chocolate. We will visit the animal reserve "El Amazónico". We will learn about the elaboration of ceramics and handicrafts, the community and the ancestral customs.

Day 1: At 08:00 am, you will be picked up from your hotel, either in Tena or in Puerto Misahualli. A second meeting point will be the central park of Puerto Misahuallí. From here, we will start the canoe trip on the Napo River, for approximately 1 hour, to the Anaconda Island sector, where we will take a short walk to the caiman-white spectacle crocodile lagoon. On this tour, it will also be possible to observe the prehistoric bird Hoatzin-Opisthocomus Hoatzin.

The second Programmed visit will be to the organic farm of fine aroma cocoa, where we will learn how to make handmade chocolate, and then we will taste it with a delicious fresh fruit salad.

The third Programmed visit will be to the rescue centre of wild animals "Amazónico", where we will be able to know species of the fauna of the Amazon, such as: Anaconda verde-Eunectes murinus, terrestrial turtles, species of monkeys, parrots, macaws, toucans, peccaries, cusumbo, kinkajú potos Flavus, tapir, lagoon of fresh water turtles.

After lunch, we will have 2 more activities. The first one will be a visit to a local family, to appreciate the elaboration of pottery and the extraction of pita fibre to make handicrafts. The second will be a visit to a community where we will appreciate the typical dance and the ancestral customs. We will return to Misahuallí port, where the one-day tour will end between 5 and 6 pm.

Single day tour. Jatun Sacha scientific station trekking

Summary of activities

We will trek through the scientific station Jatun Sacha. We will travel by paddle canoe on the Arahuano river.

Itinerary

Day 1: At 08:00 am you will be picked up from your hotel, either in Tena or in Misahualli Port. A second meeting point will be the central park of Puerto Misahuallí. From here, we will start the Journey in a private vehicle, for 15 minutes, to the Jatun Sacha station, where we will start the trekking through the jungle.

The walk will take between 5 to 6 hours, with a distance of 24 km. During the walk we will have several technical stops to learn about the "Green ecology" of the tropical rainforest. We will learn about plants, vascular, epiphytes, monoecious, dioecious, ornithology, entomology, Herpetofauna, and we will visit a beautiful viewpoint, where we will appreciate the Arahuano river and the rainforest in its splendour.

We will then reach the Arahuano River, where we will continue by paddle canoe for approximately 2 more hours to the bridge. We will continue by private vehicle back to Misahualli, where the 1 day tour will end around 5 pm.

We will enjoy the presentation of a typical dance, the demonstration of the elaboration of the chicha de yuca, and the demonstration of the cleaning of the Shamán. We will visit a large espécimen of the ceiba Pentranda tree. We will visit the "Amazonico" animal rescue centre and the caiman lagoon.

We will navigate by canoe to the rescue centre for wild animals "Amazónico", where we will be able to meet species of the Amazonian fauna, such as: Anaconda verde-Eunectes murinus, terrestrial turtles, species of monkeys, parrots, macaws, toucans, peccaries, Cusumbo, Kinkajú Potos Flavus, and the tapir. Waterfall tour for 1 day only

Itinerary

Day 1: At 08:00 am you will be picked up from your hotel, either in Tena or in Puerto Misahualli. A second meeting point will be the central park of Puerto Misahuallí. From here we will go to a lagoon, where we will paddle a canoe to observe the Arapaima Gigas fish, two to three species of monkeys in the wild, and a multitude of bird species. We will take a 2 hour walk through the forest, where we will discover its flora, Together with explanations of the plants, insects, spiders, toads, butterflies, ants, termites, etc. We will visit a large fig tree Ficus Elástica. We will have a delicious lunch in the village of Misahuallí.

After a short rest, we will travel by vehicle to the entrance to the waterfall, where we will walk for about 1 hour, until we reach a large waterfall of the Umbuni River. During the walk we will visit a beautiful natural water slide and a mini waterfall; we will be able to see the fascinating blue butterflies on the way. We will not miss the possibility to take a refreshing bath in a natural pool, which is located in the middle of the jungle.

We will visit a large ceiba Pentranda tree. The 1 day tour will end in Misahualli around 4 to 5 pm.

We will start the trip by private vehicle, for more than 1 hour, to the Llanganates National Park sector, where the rafting adventure will begin. We will be able to enjoy the scenery of the river and its beautiful white sandy beaches, as Well as the birds that live on the banks of the river.

After half way through the tour, we will make a technical stop for a delicious lunch on a white sandy beach on the banks of the river.

We will continue on the boats until the end of the tour, which will finish around 3 pm.

We will take a transfer back to the hotel, where the 1 day tour will end.
