Itinerary and programme of the 2 nights and 3 days tour:

 

Day 1: Full day tour itinerary:

At 08:30 a.m. Our private vehicle will pick you up from your lodge in Misahualli Prt. / Or from Tena: We will then travel for more than an hour to the Llanganates National Park where the rafting adventure begins, a 25 km trip downstream. This trip offers the magnitude of beautiful scenery on the class 3 river. At midday we will make a technical stop at the edge of a beautiful white sandy beach where we will have a delicious lunch:

Then we continue the trip in the boats to Prt. Napo where we continue in a private motor canoe on the Napo River for more than 1 hour until we arrive at Misahualli Eco-Lodge where we will stay for the night: Dinner.

 

Day 2: Full day tour itinerary:

If you are interested in bird watching we recommend to wake up at 06. a.m. visit 3 beautiful viewpoints with panoramic views of the Napo River in its natural splendor, walk along a private path to the river:

After breakfast we will go by private vehicle for 45 minutes to a small wildlife reserve where we will paddle a canoe in a lagoon to observe 6 species of monkeys in the wild: Chorongo Monkey, Spider Monkey, White Capuchin Monkey, Chichico Monkey, Barizo Monkey, Sakí Monkey. And the Arapaima Gigas fish, bird species: Then we will go to a second lagoon to paddle canoe and observe owls and Sloth bears.

Then we will go by motor canoe on the Napo river for more than an hour observing other species of birds that live along the river. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the jungle.

Our lunch will be in the community of Ahuano:

In the afternoon we continue by canoe to the wild animal rescue centre “Amazonico” where we can meet species of the Amazonian fauna: (Anaconda verde-Eunectes murinus) land turtles, monkeys, parrots, macaws, toucans, peccaries, (Cusumbo, Kinkajú Potos Flavus) tapir, freshwater turtles lagoon:

Second visit to an organic farm of fine aroma cocoa where you will learn how to make handmade chocolate and then taste it with a delicious fresh fruit salad.

Third visit to the caiman lagoon (Caiman-Crocodilus blancos de anteojos). Observation of the prehistoric bird (Hoatzin Opisthocomus Hoatzin).

Return by canoe to the Ahuano sector. From here we will go by private vehicle to the Arahuana river.

Motor canoe trip to a Kichwa community where we will spend the night in rustic bungalows.

Before the end of the afternoon there is free time for swimming in the river / or sport fishing with hooks and line: Finish the day with dinner.

 

Day 3: Full day tour itinerary:

We start the tour at 05:00 am. With the ancestral tradition of Guayusa upina. An elder of the community prepares the Guayusa tea and tells us the benefits and ancestral secrets of the Guayusa tea (Ilex Guayusa). And cleaning of the Shamán around a campfire.

Guayusa is an ancient and sacred plant that the natives of the Amazon preserve for its antioxidant benefits and rich in caffeine more than any other tea.

At 06 a.m. we will go by canoe on the Arahuana river observing bird species until we arrive to a clay lick full of sodium and minerals, a special place for parrots and parakeets food, here you will see 2 species of parakeets and 1 species of parrots, the Dusky-headed Parakeet (Cobalt-winged Parakeet) (Blue-headed Parrot).

After breakfast we will visit a big Pentandra Ceiba tree, children’s school, communal meeting house. Concentration in the maloca house where we will know the cultural identity of the Amazonian folklore, typical dance, elaboration of the chicha of yucca. Then we will go tubing down the river.

Finally we will have lunch typical of the Amazonian gastronomy.

Afterwards we travel by paddle canoe down the river for 2 hours to the bridge of Campococha. Here we continue by private vehicle to Misahualli where the 2-night, 3-day mixed tour ends at about 3 to 4 p.m.

Description of the second community lodge:

The lodge is built by the community members, with rustic materials collected in the jungle in a conscious way. There are beds with mattresses and mosquito nets. There is no electricity, mobile phone coverage or roads. The river is the means of river transport. Eco-tourism generates work opportunities and income for the original families of the jungle. They also keep their customs and ancestral roots intact with their beliefs.
