Cuyabeno Reserve

The Cuyabeno Fauna Production Reserve (RPFC) is located in the Province of Sucumbíos, in the northeast of the Amazon Region of Ecuador. Its area is 590,112 ha. It is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, together with Yasuni National Park.
It is a tropical rainforest. The driest season is from December to March each year when all the lagoons dry up; the rainy season is from April to July, and from August to November the rainfall is moderate.

Tour Cuyabeno reserve 4d / 3n

For all ages and families, conservationists, biologists, scientists, scientists, ornithologists.

Itinerary and programme from Lago Agrio

Day 1: Mr. bilingual guide will pick you up from your accommodation in (Lago Agrio) at 08H00 am. on the date indicated on your tour reservation. After breakfast transfer by private vehicle for 2 hours to the Cuyabeno river bridge at 90 km, approximately, from here we will go by private canoe to the lodge. During the trip we will observe monkeys, birds and turtles. After lunch we will go by canoe to see birds, monkeys and dolphins. The day ends with dinner.

Day 2: Before breakfast we will go bird watching. Then we will go for a walk in the virgin jungle for 3h discovering the fauna and flora together with the mixed explanations of the guide... In the afternoon we will go by paddle canoe through the river canyon and enter the lagoon where it is possible to observe dolphins. The day ends with dinner. 

Day 3: After breakfast we will visit the Siona community, where we will learn how to make cassava bread (Casabe). After lunch we will go to a wise Shaman. After dinner we will do night navigation for the sighting of caimans, owls, and other species of nocturnal birds.

Day 4: Before 06H00 am, we will go for bird watching. We will see toucans (Black-collared Hawk) (Agami Heron) (Blue Heron) (Monkeys) and with a lot of luck we will find otters.

Description of the Eco-Lodge

The lodge is built with mixed materials from the jungle and the city, comfortable rooms with double, twin, triple and quadruple rooms, all beds with mosquito nets, private bathroom and showers, solar energy, good self-service food.
