Itinerary and programme from Misahualli Prt.
Day 1: The meeting point and start of the tour is from the central park of Prt. Misahualli at 06H00 am. Then visit to Paikawe reserve where we will paddle canoe in lagoon to meet the fish (arapaima gigas) (observation of bird species) (owls) (monkeys and sloth bear). 2h walk in the jungle along with mixed explanations of its fauna and flora.
Afterwards, motor canoe trip on the Napo river observing bird species that live on the river banks, tour on the anaconda island where we will walk on the island to appreciate birds and lagoon of the caimans. After 57 km we arrive at a community where we will spend the night in an eco-lodge. The day ends with dinner.
Day 2: At 06H00 am we will go by canoe to a salt lick / clay lick, a special feeding site for the Blue-headed Parrot (Dusky-headed Parakeet), these species feed on clay full of minerals for their rehydration, such as electrolytes, sodium, manganese, phosphorus, calcium, potassium. This encounter with these species (Psitaciformes) is only possible when the weather is sunny, and if it rains or the weather is bad it is not safe to observe these birds.
We will then go downstream to observe the birds that inhabit the river banks. It is also possible to visit an organic fine aromo cocoa farm where we will learn how to make chocolate and then taste it with a fruit salad.
We continue the navigation on the Napo river for 4 to 5 hours to the city of Coca, during the navigation we will observe several species of birds that live along the river. From Coca we will go by private vehicle for 1h and 45 minutes to the scientific station Limoncocha where we will spend 3 more nights in an Eco-Camping Lodge for bird watching in the canyon of the lagoon. This is the habitat of birds in large numbers.

Also known as 'stinky turkey' or 'stink bird' because of its odour - a bit like cow manure. The reason for the smell - this is the only bird that is a foregut fermenter). In the evening we will go on a night walk to find owls.
Day 4: At 05H00 am. we will go to a platform with our telescope and binoculars equipment for bird watching. After breakfast we will go for a walk in the jungle for bird and monkey watching.
After dinner we will do night navigation for the sighting of the - (Black Caiman - Melanosuchus Niger) Fireflies (a unique and magical spectacle that you will never forget).
Day 5: At 05:45 a.m. we leave by canoe to navigate through the canyon and the big lagoon for more than 4 hours. This trip will be special for the sighting of birds and monkeys. And appreciate the sunrise sunset. After this activity we return to the Eco-Camping Lodge for breakfast:
Then we leave with all the luggage to the Napo River where we continue by canoe for more than 1h to the Yasuni where we will spend 2 nights in another eco-lodge. After lunch we will go to the first tower of 45 meters high where there is the opportunity to observe many species of birds and monkeys, Mr. Guide proposes binoculars and telescope equipment for this activity. Finish the day with dinner.
Day 6: At 06H00 am we go to the first clay licks or collpas rich in sodium and minerals, here we stay about 30 minutes to appreciate this spectacle of the arrival of species of parrots that feed on clay full of minerals for their rehydration, such as electrolytes, sodium, manganese, phosphorus, calcium and potassium.
We then walk for 45 minutes to the second mixed parakeet and parrot clay licks (Scarlet Macaw). At this site we wait for the arrival of these species for 1 to 2 hours... Walk through the virgin forest for 3 hours discovering its fauna and flora along with the mixed explanations, on the way it is possible to find monkeys, guans, macaws, peccaries, etc.
In the afternoon we will go to the second tower of 45 meters high where with our equipment of binoculars and telescopes we will be able to observe species of monkeys, macaws, toucans, the beautiful panoramic view of the green mantle of the Yasuni and the serpentine Napo River together with its beautiful sandy beaches in its splendor.
Day 7: At 06H00 am we will go by canoe to observe howler monkeys and howler monkeys on the banks of the river. After our breakfast we leave by canoe to Pompeya where we continue by bus to (Coca) where we have lunch. We then travel by bus to (Tena) where the 7d / 6n tour ends.

The agami heron is the most beautiful heron in the world and very difficult to find in its natural habitat. To find the nests of the agami it is recommended from the month of March each year until the end of June to July, reproduction, eggs, nest, seasonality, colony, Agamia agami:
A colony of agami heron nests every year inside a secret place in the Yasuni, discovered only a few years ago, so it is considered a real jewel for ornithologists.
