Tour 2d / 1n: (option #1)

Trekking through the scientific station Jatun sacha and accommodation in community

Itinerary and programme from Prt. Misahualli

Day 1: The meeting point and start of the tour is from the central park of Prt. Misahualli at 08H and 30 am. Then transfer by private vehicle to the biological reserve Jatun sacha (r.b.j.s).

From here there are 2 trekking options, one of 5 to 6h, and another of 3h. These 2 options are flexible to know the fauna and flora together with the mixed explanations of the Herpetofauna, botany, ornithology, after this crossing on foot through the jungle of the primary forest we arrive to a community to stay for 1 night…Before the end of the afternoon there is free time to swim in the river... After dinner, cultural integration to appreciate typical dances, shaman cleaning demonstration, stories and legends. 

Day 2: At 05H30 am the tour starts with the drinking of Guayusa tea, stories and legends around a campfire. At 06H00 am we travel by canoe to a salt lick / clay lick, a special place for the feeding of (Blue-headed Parrot) (Dusky-headed Parakeet), to this place they come in search of minerals for their rehydration, this encounter with these species of Psitaciformes is only possible when the weather is good and sunny, and if it rains or the weather is bad it is not safe to observe these birds.

After breakfast we will visit the big Pentranda Ceiba tree, the children's school, the community meeting house and tubing down the river. Our typical lunch will be in the community...Then paddle canoeing for 2h to the bridge. From here transfer by private vehicle to Misahualli where the 2 days and 1-night tour ends around 4 to 5 pm.

Lodging discretion

  • The lodge is built by the members of the community, with rustic materials collected from the jungle in a conscious way. Cabins with double and quadruple rooms, beds with mattresses and mosquito nets. There is no electricity, mobile phone coverage, or roads. The river is the means of river transport, eco-tourism generates work opportunities and income for the original families of the sector, as well as maintaining their customs and ancestral roots intact with their beliefs.

Tour 3d / 2n, community accommodation for 2 nights: (option # 2)

Trekking through the Jatun Sacha station / living in community and ancestral customs.

Itinerary and programme from Prt. Misahualli

Day 1: The meeting point and start of the tour is from the central park of Prt. Misahualli at 08H and 30 am. then transfer by private vehicle to the biological reserve Jatun Sacha (r.b.j.s).

The day ends with dinner.

After breakfast we travel by canoe down the Arahuana river to a protective forest to observe birds and monkeys... Our typical lunch will be in the community... In the afternoon we will go tubing down the river, (optional sport fishing). After dinner there will be a folkloric performance of typical dances and a demonstration of shaman cleaning.

Day 3: After breakfast we travel by paddle canoe for 2 hours down the river to the bridge. From here we continue by motor canoe to the rescue centre for wild animals (the "Amazonico") where we will have a 1-hour tour to see green anaconda, tapir, peccaries, monkeys, parrots and macaws, toucans, ocelots, ocelots, and more species.

Visit to an organic cocoa farm where you will learn how to make pure cocoa chocolate and then taste it with a delicious fruit salad, pottery making, extraction of pita fibre to make handicrafts, practice with the blowgun, silent weapon of hunting, (observation of caimans in the lagoon - white-eyed crocodiles), visit to the nest of the Chestnut-fronted Macaw and the White-throated Toucan....We continue by canoe for 49 km to Misahualli where the 3 days and 2 nights’ tour ends at about 5H00 pm.
