Camping and outdoor adventure from Prt. Misahualli Amazonia. Adventure tourism has grown in the last decades as tourists are looking for holidays out of the ordinary, adventure tourism can be any tourist activity that includes physical activity, cultural exchange and connection with nature… Enjoy a self-sufficient tour in the amazon with your family or friends, travel on the napo river by canoe, visit communities, waterfalls, wildlife observation and more activities.
On this tour to the upper Yasuni we guarantee to see the following wildlife species, in their natural state: toucan species, (Blue and Yellow Macaw / Ara Ararauna), (Scarlet Macaw / Ara Macao), parrots, parakeets. A great diversity of wild bird species... caimans, fresh water turtles, howler monkeys, amphibians, salamanders, anonis, invertebrates, etc. With a lot of luck, we will see green anaconda / Eunectes murinus, giant otter / Pteronura Brasilensis...In this adventure and camping tour for 3 days and 2 nights it is flexible to spend 2 to 1 night in a Waorani community to share experiences and coexistence with the Waorani families... Or spend the 3 days alone in the jungle without visiting the community.
Itinerary and programme from Misahualli Prt.
Day 1: The meeting point and start of the tour is from the central park of Prt. Misahualli at 08H and 30 am. We then travel by private vehicle for 2h to the Nushino River.
From here we will go by motor canoe downstream for 2h to a white sandy beach where we will make our base camp for 2 nights... after lunch we will go for a walk in the jungle to discover the wildlife.
In the evening we will do night navigation to find owls, caimans... if you like fishing here it is possible to do sport fishing at night to catch cat fish / catfish.
Day 2: At 05h and 45 am, we wake up for bird watching, for this activity we have binoculars and telescope. After breakfast we will paddle canoe down the river for 2h, observing the beautiful scenery of the virgin forest, monkeys and birds.
Then we will walk through the virgin forest, for 3 or 4h, discovering its fauna and flora; together with mixed explanations about the "Green Ecology" of the tropical rainforest of the upper Yasuni. Vascular, epiphytic, monoecious and dioecious plants. Ornithology, entomology, Herpetofauna. We will observe monkeys, hopefully peccary pigs.... In the afternoon we will have lunch on a sandy beach... After a break we will go fishing for pineapples.
We return to the camp by canoe, before the end of the night there will be free time to swim in the river... After dinner, we will go for a night walk.
Day 3: Early in the morning we will paddle down the river to discover the wildlife. After our breakfast, we will break camp to return by canoe upstream to the bridge, we will take our private vehicle back to Misahualli, where the 3 days and 2 nights’ tour will start around 4 to 5 pm.
