‘AYAHUASCA’ ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

What is an Ayahuasca retreat?
An Ayahuasca retreat is a sacred and deeply personal experience designed to facilitate profound healing on an emotional, mental, energetic and spiritual level. At the heart of every Ayahuasca retreat is Ayahuasca, an ancient Amazonian medicinal plant.

Ayahuasca is a traditional Amazonian plant medicine made from the ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) and the chacruna plant (Psychotria viridis). These plants work together to induce an altered state of consciousness, often offering profound insights into your subconscious mind and the essence of your being. In healing traditions, ayahuasca and chacruna are considered male and female spiritual entities that work together to guide participants through their inner world. Ayahuasca is the most important medicine that allows spiritual healers to communicate with many other medicinal plants in the rainforest and work on their behalf.

Shamanic healing during a traditional ayahuasca retreat is carried out through spiritual songs of the plants called acaros. These songs are channelled by trained healers. The acaros or takina identify and purify the energetic roots of trauma. The essence of an authentic ayahuasca retreat is the treatment of trauma, both personal and ancestral.

Tour Plan

01

What happens during an Ayahuasca retreat?

Ayahuasca retreats are carefully structured to create a safe, welcoming and transformative environment. The quality and depth of your experience will depend largely on the level of expertise of the retreat centre, primarily the experience of the healers and facilitators, and their respect for and practice of authentic traditional Ayahuasca practices.

A brief history of ayahuasca

Ayahuasca has been revered for centuries by indigenous tribes in the Amazon basin. It is the cornerstone of their sophisticated spiritual and healing practices. For countless generations, it has helped indigenous healers discover the root causes of physical and emotional disorders and bring balance to the soul.

The use of ayahuasca dates back thousands of years, with archaeological evidence of its preparation found in Ecuador more than 2,500 years ago. Its ceremonial use has been carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation among healers who consider ayahuasca a sacred medicine, not a recreational substance.

Spiritual retreat and deep healing in an Ayahuasca (Yagé) ceremony with a traditional doctor, wise ‘Yachat’ / ‘Shaman’ and taita; - in groups of only women, family, friends, or mixed... Location and gathering at the KingFisher Ethnobotanical Garden Reserve, a magical place surrounded by natural surroundings with ornamental plant gardens, beautiful panoramic views on the banks of the Napo River in its natural splendour in the middle of the Amazon rainforest. It is located in a beautiful spot 20 minutes by car from the Port of Misahualli, Tena Napo, Amazonia, Ecuador.

How long does ayahuasca last? During the ceremony, the ayahuasca infusion is consumed and the effects begin after 30-40 minutes, depending on each person's physical condition, reaching their peak after 90-120 minutes. These experiences, which vary considerably among participants, can last up to 4 hours or longer. Aftercare is essential, focusing on integration and reflection to help individuals process and understand the profound emotional revelations of the process.

Ayahuasca offers a profound journey like no other, but it demands respect, preparation, and caution. If you feel called to explore your inner world through this ancient practice... Before participating in a ceremony, we recommend that you undergo a thorough medical and psychological evaluation. Physical and spiritual cleansing.

One of the most remarkable aspects of ayahuasca is the profound cleansing it provides, both physically and emotionally. Participants may experience purging, such as vomiting or diarrhoea, which is considered an important part of the cleansing process. This purification opens the way to profound spiritual insights and emotional release.
