Itinerary and programme from Prt. Misahualli

Day 1: The meeting point and start of the tour is from the central park of Prt. Misahualli at 08H00 and 30 am. We then travel by private vehicle for approximately 2 hours to the Nushino river bridge at 95 km.

Depending on the contracted tour we will continue by kayak, paddle canoe or motor canoe, we will descend the river in the kayaks or paddle canoe until 4 pm where we will make our camp on the banks of the river on a white sandy beach to camp in the open air.

During the trip we will observe different species of birds, such as toucans, parrots, blue macaws, woodpeckers, guans, monkeys, along with the mixed explanations of the guide. Before the end of the afternoon it is possible to swim in the river.

Day 2: At 06H00 am. we will wake up for bird watching, for this activity we have binoculars and telescope.

After our breakfast we continue downstream observing bird species, monkeys, fresh water turtles, with a lot of luck we will find anaconda and harpy eagle.

We arrive at a small community of Waorani families where it is possible to spend the night with them to get to know them and share experiences. The day ends with dinner.

Day 3: Before breakfast we will go on a bird watching tour. Then we will hike in the virgin forest for 4 hours to find monkeys, peccaries, pigs, along with the mixed explanations of Mr. guide about the "GREEN ECOLOGY" of the tropical rainforest of the high Yasuni. We will learn about plants, vascular, epiphytes, monoecious and dioecious. Ornithology, Entomology, Herpetofauna. In the afternoon we will go piranha fishing in the river. Optional night navigation to observe owls and caimans.

Day 4: In the morning we continue down the river discovering the flora and fauna that inhabit the river banks. At midday we arrive at another site to make another camp on a white sandy beach on the banks of the river.

After lunch we will hike in virgin jungle to discover the fauna and flora, together with the mixed explanations of our guide.

After dinner we will go on a night walk.

Day 5: After breakfast we will break camp to go up the river against the current to discover the fauna that inhabits the river banks, we arrive at the bridge where we will continue in a private vehicle to Misahualli Prt. where the 5-day tour ends at about 5 to 6 pm.

Discretion of the accommodation (Camping)

Camping is in 2 person tents with mattresses and full sleeping gear, open air rural camp accommodation on white sandy beaches on the river banks in different locations for each night.
